''When we, as humans, accept the subjection to suffering, resignation in life will follow.’’
With a passion for heavy, heart-wrenching music, Ter Ziele joined forces at the end of 2020 to put their spin on the doom genre. Through heavy, desolate riffs, fragile melodies, and poignant vocals, the band explores the boundaries of doom metal while implying their affinity for post- and black metal.
After the release of two singles in 2022 and numerous domestic and international shows—including festivals like Into The Grave, Soulcrusher, Into The Void, and Roadburn Offroad—Ter Ziele has made an intense and powerful impression as their unique sound continues to resonate.
“Embodiment of Death” is the culmination of extensive revising and perfecting of what Ter Ziele initially envisioned. Following a successful collaboration with Stijn van Gestel, the decision was made for him to oversee the production and mixing of the debut album, while JB van der Wal (Gaerea, Herder, Ortega, Verwoed) handled the mastering. Supported by Tartarus Records, this highly anticipated album is set for release in spring 2025, showcasing the vast versatility of Ter Ziele.
Prepare to journey into the depths of anguish and introspection, which seamlessly intertwine and evoke a profound emotional experience, immersing you in a daunting exploration of the human condition. This debut album invites you to delve into the shadows of your own psyche, leaving you transformed by the visceral passage through darkness and desperation.

REVIEWS
“Ter Ziele immediately breaks through the sound barrier with heavy, desolate post metal with ahint of sludge and black metal…making this opener feel like a steamroller that seems to squeeze all light and life out of the audience.” – Dump Magazine (2024)
“Intimidating and convincing” – Aardschok (2024)
”…Music that, despite the devastating sound, is never free of intensity and emotion, and in addition to the bone-hard grooves, it also seeks out the atmosphere. It should be clear: Ter Ziele intends to blow open doors, for better or for worse, and this is an excellent kickstart of more.”– Never Mind The Hype (2022)
“Ter Ziele drags us into a world of doom with full dedication, featuring powerful instrumentals and a vocalist who screams his guts out. The band closes the show with a long track that ends with a slow, extensive build-up resulting in a noisy energy bomb of a climax, leaving the audience in the sludge.” – 3voor12 (2024)
